  • FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

How will I know what time my support worker or community nurse will visit?

Support worker visits are agreed with clients during the initial contact and a roster is sent to the client. Any changes to the roster are discussed with the support worker and the client is notified.

Community nursing visits are arranged the day before and the nurse contacts the client directly to advise the time of the next visit.

What happens if the support worker or community nurse does not turn up?

Contact Total Care Health Services (09 630 1630).

Can visits from TCHS be flexible to fit in with other appointments or my work committments?

Yes, Total Care Health Services will arrange visits to suit your committments where possible. Please let us know if you are unable to be available at the time of our planned visit. We are able to provide community nursing services at your workplace.

What happens if I become unwell or require emergency care?

During an emergency phone 111 and ask for the required service i.e. ambulance, fire or police.

If you become unwell contact your GP. If you are hospitalised please inform Total Care Health Services.

What hours do support workers and community nurses visit?

Total Care Health Services delivers homecare 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Community nursing is available 7 days per week including public holidays when required.

Will I always have the same support worker or community nurse?

Where possible Total Care Health Services ensures the health, cultural and spiritual needs of clients are met and our community nurses and support workers are allocated accordingly. We endeavour to provide consistency but due to some circumstances (such as annual or sick leave) this may not always be possible.

What happens when I require more treatment/support or my needs change?

Contact Total Care Health Services (either Nursing or Homecare Services) to advise any changes in your needs. ACC clients should contact their ACC case owner.

How do I provide feedback on the services I have received from Total Care Health Services?

Total Care Health Services values feedback from our clients as this provides us with opportunities to celebrate high quality service or to make improvements for future clients. You are able to make compliments and complaints via our Contact Page.
